Concept
Roberta’s Place is a collaborative space run by and for the Cleveland community. Founded by Roberta Parson, this community center works like a co-op: members must contribute in some way, whether by working in the kitchen and garden, looking after children, or selling items at farmer's markets. In return, they and their families can eat meals, take home produce, take advantage of childcare, and use the space at Roberta’s Place. Members hold a free community dinner open to anyone once per week. They also provide classes and other resources, such as education about employment opportunities. In addition to grants, they take produce and other items such as canned goods to farmer's markets on the weekends to turn a profit.
